Why The Purse Exists

Every day, new people show up on Robinhood Chain — but with an empty wallet, there's not much you can actually do.

You can't trade, mint, or try anything on-chain without a little ETH for gas first. For a lot of people that's the whole blocker — not lack of interest, just not having that first bit of ETH to even get started.

That's what The Common Purse is for. Every day, we send a small amount of ETH to 100 wallets — enough to make your first few transactions and actually get onboard on Robinhood Chain. What we send comes straight from the 3% tax on $PURSE trades: the more the community trades, the more the purse has to give back.

This isn't charity and it isn't a guarantee — just a small purse, filled by the community, passed back to the community.

⁂ An empty wallet shouldn't be why you never get on-chain.

FAQ

Who gets ETH from the faucet?
Up to the first 100 wallets each day, strictly first-come, first-served (FCFS) — but the actual number depends on how much tax revenue came in that day. On a strong day, all 100 get sent ETH. On a lighter day, only as many wallets as the day's revenue can cover will get sent ETH, starting from whoever requested earliest.
Where does the faucet's funding come from?
Entirely from the 3% tax on $PURSE transactions. There is no separate treasury — the faucet runs purely on what the tax brings in.
How much does each person get?
The amount is decided at our discretion each day, based on how much tax revenue came in. We keep the remainder after distributing to that day's claimants.
What if there's no tax revenue on a given day?
Then the faucet does not run that day. Payouts are only possible when tax revenue has actually come in.
How is the ETH sent out?
Manually, by our team, after reviewing each request.
Can the faucet be shut down?
Yes. We can pause or end the faucet at any time, at our discretion.
What if trading volume is low and there's barely any tax collected?
The faucet only runs on what the 3% tax actually brings in. If a day's revenue is only enough to cover, say, 30 wallets, we send to the first 30 wallets that requested that day and stop there — we don't stretch it thin across all 100. The rest of that day's requests simply don't get sent that day.
If my request doesn't get funded, does it carry over to the next day?
No. Each day resets on its own — we don't queue unfunded requests forward. If you didn't make the cut on a given day, you're welcome to request again once the faucet reopens.
Will we be told in advance if the faucet is paused or stopped?
No. We can pause, slow down, or stop the faucet at any time without prior notice. There's no guaranteed schedule or advance warning.
Is this financial advice or an investment guarantee?
No. $PURSE and this faucet are not financial advice, and there is no promise of profit, price appreciation, or return on anything. Do your own research and only ever risk what you can afford to lose.

Only your wallet address is stored. It's used solely to send your ETH manually — nothing else about you is collected or sold. Survey answers are recorded alongside it to help us understand who's using the faucet.
